Creative, positive, energetic and dedicated. Those are the adjectives I would pick to describe myself with. Since I learned to read and write as a little girl I’ve loved to use words to express creativity – be it writing news articles, press releases or lyrics for songs. I’m a journalist and communications expert with fluency in producing content for various platforms. My academic background lies in journalism and communication, including studies in marketing and history.
Storytelling, people and communication are my passions. I lived abroad a lot growing up and I take great pride in having a large and diverse social network across the world. As an individual I’m very independent, but love having a great team surrounding me. The more talented the people I work with are, the more inspired and motivated I become to aim even higher. I strongly believe in never being complete as a professional and am always looking for new ways to challenge myself. There is always more to learn, new doors to open and what could be more exciting than that?
Jael is possibly the most enthusiastic colleague I have ever had. Her high energy and positive attitude is catching and she brings a can-do attitude to work and has a great ability to create the material a customer needs and wants. She is not afraid of hard work and is really a great team player. Together we were the core of a team forming a new department at KSF Media, working with concept development and content production. She was full of ideas, showed lots of initiative and managed projects from start to finish always solving any problem that might come up.

Skills
I have over 10 years of experience working with journalism. I’ve worked as a news reporter for several different media, including Finland’s largest newspaper Helsingin Sanomat and the largest Swedish-language newspaper in Finland Hufvudstadsbladet. During this time I have written news, columns, large feature pieces, online news and even worked hosting online-TV. I studied journalism at the University of Helsinki, graduating in 2012.
I have four years of experience working with communication, first at KSF Media, then at Varuboden-Osla (S-Group). At Varuboden-Osla I handled both internal and external communication, for example writing press releases and news bulletins, managing the weekly internal newsletter and maintaining relations with media. I studied communication at the University of Helsinki, graduating in 2017.
Social media has been an integral part of my professional career since 2013. I’m skilled in producing different kinds of content for social media, as well as managing and coordinating a company’s various social media platforms. In 2017 I also completed a course in social media marketing and communication. Although I’ve used everything from Facebook to Snapchat in my work, Instagram is what I’m most passionate about.
I’m an expert in content marketing and storytelling, with over 5 years of experience in the field. I have experience in producing specific content on demand, managing and planning large content marketing projects, developing new content marketing concepts for different platforms as well as creating a new in house content marketing agency. I’ve produced content marketing in various forms: articles for newspapers, customer magazines and websites, stories for social media, videos and even content marketing for games. I’ve also worked with inbound marketing and copywriting. I’m HubSpot certified in Content Marketing and Inbound Marketing.
Having worked a lot with content design and production for online channels, naturally, I’ve also worked with optimizing the content for search engines. I’ve completed a couple of online courses in SEO basics and am always eager to learn more advanced techniques.
As a communications expert, I obviously love languages and learning them has always come easily to me. My English is native level, as well as my Finnish and Swedish. My French and Spanish are at an almost fluent level. I have used all five languages during my professional career.

The educational achievement I am most proud of is definitely my thesis. Working on the thesis while simultaneously juggling a fulltime job was no picnic, but seeing the results was so rewarding and getting the excellent grade Magna Cum Laude was the icing on the cake!
Employment
At Helsingin Sanomat I write news articles for both the online and the print edition of the newspaper.
As is typical in the media industry today, my role as a journalist isn’t limited to just writing. Photography, filming short videos, administrating social media groups and networking are also part of the job description. Naturally, keeping up to date with what’s going on in my focus region and searching for news and stories related to it are also a big part of my day-to-day work.
I worked as a freelance journalist and news reporter writing news articles for various media in Finland. I have a strong nose for news and find stories in all areas of society – I’ve covered everything from politics to culture and entertainment. That said, I’m most passionate about phenomena in the local society, human interest stories and travel so my own ideas tend to stem from these areas.
I handled both internal and external communications in Swedish and Finnish, wrote press releases and maintained media relationships. I coordinated and produced both the customer magazine and employee magazine. I managed social media accounts and did translations and helped coordinate and organize events and manage projects.
As a Content Producer and Concept Developer at KSF Media I had the chance to create a new in house content marketing agency from scratch together with two colleagues. I worked with over thirty different clients planning and producing successful content marketing for various platforms: articles for newspapers, customer magazines and websites, stories for social media, videos and even content marketing for games.
